The Hotel Fuente del Sol is embedded In the heart  of an ancient and beautiful land.

 

A four star architectural complex where the essence of Andalusian tradition prevails. The love for the natural environment, and  ecological production of our produce and food being paramount.

 

Camouflaged in privileged surroundings, the hotel was constructed in 2006, and whose  arquitecture  resembles  an ancient Andalusian farmhouse, with Arabian tiled roofs, arched central patio and white washed exterior walls.

 

The interior of the hotel is cared for in detail. Both in the noble areas and rooms wood and clay predominate, producing a unique character and an atmosphere that invites rest and relaxation.

 

The luminosity of southern Spain shines on the whole complex. The whisper of the breeze mixes with the call of the birds and the distant sound of herds of goats which graze the surrounding  area.

Andalus Patio

This homely patio is full of charm and andalusian flavour. Capturing you with its white walls, the arches around the façade, the little fountain that presides the patio and the plants that give  it colour. Not forgetting the views that form a magnificent backdrop,allowing you to enjoy the magical scenery and take some of the best photographslas mejores fotografías.

The outdoor pool is located behind the hotel in a unique space surrounded by nature.

Main garden

Descending the stairs from the andalus patio we arrive at the main garden which posesses a marvellous panoramic view of the gualalhorce valley. From here you are able to see various towns hidden amongst the green landscape, as well as the mediterranean sea on a clear day. It invites you to lie on the fresh grass, contemplate the magnificent views,listen to the birds song, read a good book and connect with the natural environment that surrounds us.

The Lake

In the centre of the  garden we find our lake, bringing the area to life. An area surrounded by many different fruit trees like quince (cydonia ablonga), fig (ficus carica) and the almond (prunus dulcis), among many others like oak (quercus ilex) and the eurpoean fan palm (chamaerops coccitera).

Stroll around the lake enjoying the natural aromas, read a book under the shade of the fig tree, breathe pure air or simply enjoy the nature that surronds hotel fuente del sol.

The Farm

Next to the oak tree is the farm, a large space where you can meet some of our most faithful friends. If you like animals then you will love strolling around the farm, discovering the different forms of life that live alongside us . You will be able to witness how every morning the geese visit our lake to give themselves a dip`, and how our peacock noses around the hotel.

Next to the lake we find a centenary oak tree. Read a book, enjoy a picnic or practise yoga under the oak are some of the must do things if you visit us. A magical place where you can connect with nature and yourself.

The Vineyard

The old threshing floor set amongst vines is known for its spectacular views of the malaga mountains (montes de malaga) and the south torcal area. A magical place, surrounded by autochthenous plants, perfect for discovering the essence of nature.   This large open space is perfect for celebrating private events, as well as for photographic reports.

Events Room

Next to the main garden we find the events hall, an impressively sized  hall surrounded by glass and full of natural light where you can take part in activities such as yoga, aerobics, meditation... All whilst enjoying the magnificent views on the days where the weather permits.

 

The Lounge salon

The lounge is an area where you can spend the winter afternoons / evenings. Sit, relax, read a book or enjoy a glass of wine. Our elegant lounge is one of the quietest and comfiest corners of the hotel.ás tranquilos y acogedores de nuestro hotel.

Sustainability

Our philosophy takes us on a constant search of sustainability. We recycle, and where possible try to live without the use of plastic nor paper. We favour natural tourism, hiking, cycling, visits to the Torcal and the Antequera Dolmenes, introducing the culture and customs of the people of the county.

 

  • The hotel has been designed in such a way as to adapt itself to the local climatic and environmental conditions of the area: southern orientation, porches , small entrances, plants that envolve the hotel, are all passive actions of energy saving, and help to keep our environment sustainable.
  • Our agricultural and watering  systems are based on the principles of sustainability and respect. We work with local farmers and have our own totally ecological allotment using horse manure as it´s fertilizer.
This respect for the land has allowed us to produce a great part of the food and produce that we offer in our restaurant : olive oil, wine, vegetables, eggs and meat. For watering our allotment and gardens we re-use rain water. We contribute to  the development and sustainability of the local economy having local producers as our suppliers.

  • Our reserve of water also serves as a protection for the forests in case of fire.
  • As much of our food waste as possible is used as animal feed and organic fertilizer for our allotments.
  • We use our own laundry, in that way avoiding the need to transport the linen to other establishments, and the consequent contamination that this produces. The cleaning products used in our laundry are environmentally sustainable.
We run an ecological restaurant with seasonal fruit and vegetables grown in our allotment or bought from local suppliers.
  • Heat  is generated by sustainable energy sources like solar panels and biomass furnaces. Solar panels are also used to generate our hot water.
  • As much of our food waste as possible is used as animal feed and organic fertilizer for our allotments.
  • Where possible, we also use antique decorative materials and furnishings instead of new ones.
  • The hotel´s public areas are heated by wood collected from our forests, thus maintaining them and keeping them clean.
